Acceptable Use Policy | The Prompt Fixer™

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the permitted and prohibited uses of The Prompt Fixer™'s AI prompt optimization service. By using The Prompt Fixer™, you agree to comply with this policy.

2. Permitted Uses

Optimizing prompts for legitimate business purposes
Improving prompts for educational or research purposes
Creating prompts for content creation, coding assistance, or analysis
Personal productivity and learning
Building applications that integrate with our API within rate limits
Automating prompt optimization workflows with proper error handling

Regulated and High-Risk Use: The Service is not designed to replace professional judgment in regulated or high-risk domains, including legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or security-sensitive applications. Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and professional requirements.

Automation and Integration Responsibility: Users integrating generated outputs into automated systems, workflows, or third-party services are responsible for implementing appropriate safeguards, testing, and human oversight.

Export and Sanctions Compliance: Users may not use the Service in violation of applicable export control, sanctions, or trade compliance laws and regulations.

3. Prohibited Uses

Generating content that promotes violence, hate speech, or discrimination
Creating prompts to deceive, defraud, or manipulate others
Generating malware, phishing content, or other malicious material
Violating intellectual property rights of others
Attempting to circumvent security controls or abuse the service
Automated scraping or excessive API usage beyond normal use

Safeguard Circumvention: Users may not attempt to bypass service safeguards, usage limits, or technical restrictions, including through prompt manipulation or automated access.

4. API-Specific Restrictions

Prohibited API Uses

You may not use our API to:

Generate malicious code, malware, or exploits
Create spam or bulk unsolicited communications
Exceed rate limits through multiple accounts
Reverse engineer our algorithms
Share or resell API keys without authorization
Train competing AI models
Bypass security measures

Rate Limit Compliance

We enforce rate limits using Redis-based sliding window algorithm:

Starter: 30 requests/minute, 40,000/month
Growth: 60 requests/minute, 300,000/month
Enterprise: Custom rate limits, 750,000+/month
Anonymous web users: 5 AI generations per day per device
Contact us for increased limits rather than creating workarounds
Repeated abuse may result in account suspension

API Key Security

You are responsible for:

Keeping API keys confidential
Not embedding keys in public repositories
Regenerating compromised keys immediately
Using OAuth 2.0 for third-party application integrations
Configuring IP whitelisting for Enterprise tier (recommended)
Implementing request signing for sensitive operations (Enterprise)

4.5 Account Security Requirements

Security Best Practices

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced security
Use strong, unique passwords (checked against known breaches)
Regularly review active sessions and revoke unknown devices
Report suspicious account activity immediately

Account Lockout: After 5 failed login attempts, accounts are temporarily locked for 15 minutes. This is a security feature and cannot be bypassed.

5. Sensitive Data Guidelines

While The Prompt Fixer™ uses secure, transient processing with Zero Data Retention, users should exercise caution with sensitive data:

Avoid submitting: Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, passwords, API keys, or other credentials
Use caution with: Personal health information (PHI), financial records, legal documents
Follow your organization's policies: Adhere to your company's data classification and AI use policies

6. Output Review Responsibility

Users are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated prompt optimizations before use. The Prompt Fixer™ does not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or safety of optimized prompts. Users should:

Review optimized prompts before using them with AI systems
Verify that outputs align with intended purpose and organizational policies
Not rely solely on AI-generated content for critical decisions
Report any concerning outputs to support@thepromptfixer.com

7. Enforcement

Violations may result in:

Warning: 7-day correction period
Suspension: 30-day account suspension
Termination: Permanent ban for severe/repeated violations
Rate Limit Reduction: Reduced limits for abuse patterns
API Key Revocation: Immediate revocation for security violations

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against violations at our discretion. All enforcement actions are logged in our audit system.
